Ninja Gaiden 2 Weapon Exhibition Vol. 3: Eclipse Scythe
This gigantic scythe has long been a prized weapon among the Lycanthrope tribe of fiends. As its name suggests, its design was inspired by the natural phenomenon of the solar eclipse. The roots of the weapon can be traced back to an ancient sacrifice ritual. When the king of an ancient Lycanthrope tribe was overthrown, his body was tossed into a vat of molten Wootz steel, also know as Dasmascus steel. From this steel, the scythe was forged. After being hammered into rough but solid shape, the blade of the scythe was quenched by repeatedly plunging it into the bodies of living human beings. It is said that it took a full nine days for the scythe to cool completely. One would think that the characteristic grain pattern of Damascus steel should be visible on the scythe’s surface, but at present such a texture is nowhere to be found. Hayabusa cared little about the texture of the scythe or even the history; the only thing he’s worried about is how long it’s going to take to wash the blood off after massacring his enemies in this video… Music: Danger – Black Milk
Freestyle Art: DUEL AT GANRYU ISLAND (Samurai II)
Musashi Miyamoto – Master of the Sword Musashi Miyamoto is perhaps the most widely reknown samurai warrior from Japan. Known as the “Sword Saint,” his skills at sword fighting were unmatched during his time and are legendary even today. It is said that he fought over 60 duels and was undefeated. He was also involved in one of the most famous battles in Japanese history at Sekigahara, where over 70000 people died. Musashi fought on the losing side and survived. From an early age, Musashi was inclined towards sword fighting and won his first duel when he was only 13. When he got older, Musashi set off on a pilgrimage to refine his martial art and sword capabilities. Along the way, he faced death on many occasions and won all his duels. His most famous duel was against a samurai named Sasaki Kojiro, who was a very skilled with an extra long sword. Legend has it that Musashi fashioned a wooden sword out of an oar from a boat to defeat Kojiro, striking him directly in the head with the wooden weapon. Having mastered the Japanese samurai sword, Musashi was able to extend his insight into strategy beyond martial arts. He became a master of writing, painting and a range of activities. One of his most noted accomplishments is his book, The Book of Five Rings, which is a record of his teachings on the Way of Strategy.
Ninja Gaiden 2 Weapon Exhibition Vol. 5 – True Dragon Sword
When the Eye of the Dragon is fitted into the Dragon Sword’s hilt, it unleashes the spiritual power of the Dragon hidden in the blade. The weapon in this state is called the True Dragon Sword, and its incredible power is unrivaled. The bearer of this divine weapon must possess the physical strength, vigorous spirit, and proficiency of techniques necessary to wield it properly. If a weaker being were to attempt to use it, the blade may very feed on the bearer’s soul. The immense power contained within the True Dragon Sword upsets the delicate balance of a peaceful world, and it is argued that there are very few instances in which such a powerful weapon should be allowed to exist. Thus, it has become customary to store the Dragon Sword and Eye of the Dragon in separate locations. It may be safe to assume that all life – malevolent or otherwise – should be wary, as young Hayabusa has not only located the Eye of the Dragon, but also combined it with the Dragon Sword! May the gods help us all… Music: Superstarr Pt. 0 – K-os
